I originally was planning to get these nicely printed and put them up in the shop but I thought, “hey, I’ve been blessed this year”, let’s hook some people up. So here folks, is a FREE 2013 printable French macaron calendar designed over here at JolieJolie Design. I hope you all enjoy it. It’s intended for an 8.5×11″ PDF. Sorry that I (Lisa) have been hiatus for the past couple months… not that design is not on my mind but in the last few months I have been, what people may call, following after my dreams. I have always loved to bake before food channels were cool. I baked since I was 10 years old. Many failed attempts and many successful ones. I started to really get into it more with more making more complicated things like the finicky macaron and the buttery croissant.
An opportunity came to me in July of last year to work in a michelin restaurant along side their pastry chef for 6 months. I quit my job and jumped on that opportunity. Never thought that I would quit my 9-5 career to pursue what I really love. As I worked long hours and learned the ins and outs of the restaurant business, I worked along an amazing pastry chef. I learned so much from those 6 months. This was a make it or break it for me. I could have left this opportunity realizing that this wasn’t for me… but I didn’t. This was for me. So what am I doing now since my internship is up? I am now in pastry school to become a pastry chef. I am excited beyond belief.
You may think that this blog may be a good-bye to JJ but this is not. If our lives are not crazy enough and soon-to-be more crazy when JolieJolie will be outnumbered by our children, we are so excited to announce ….
While we share about the designs we create and love, we now are going to be able to share that with food as well on FOODERIE! Be patient with us as we get up and running but LIKE us and following us! We are so thankful for our fans and without you this could not happen!
I am always amazed at crafty people who can replicate something they see. I am designer, yes but besides the mouse, I am a little clumsy with my hands. =) Check out this amazing Anthropologie inspired paper scroll backdrop from Bird’s Party Blog.

The inspiration from the store.
Wow, this past year has flown by so quickly and both Lisa and I have been extremely busy with different projects so we apologize if we haven’t updated in awhile. Lisa finished an amazing pastry internship recently and is pursuing more baked goodness but I’ll let her update that herself =) As for me, I will share my news a little more visually. Happy New Year everyone!!
