Okay, so now check out these amazing yarn knitted escort cards. I love the integration of this to the invite. It is such a unique escort card. Her maid of honor lovingly made all 250.

The reception was held outdoors at the beautiful Los Altos History Museum.

These unique DIY centerpieces were also one of my favorite little elements from the wedding. She created the geometric shapes similar to what she drew in the invitation with little coffee sipper straws. I’m going to have to ask her for a tutorial on those.

I (Rachel), on the other hand have been busy working on a few stationery and invitation projects. I just added and will be continually adding more wedding invitations, party invitations and save the dates to the shop!

The idea behind the invitation was that they liked the idea of the silhouettes of their profiles as well as incorporating a bit of  a Tahitian element because Christine does Tahitian dancing. Initially, as I designed their silhouettes, I felt it was too formal for them. Christine and Jack definitely have their own style (as well as the largest collection of Nike shoes any couple has together). I wanted it to be more modern so I suggested something more modern with some harder lines. Christine has this long hair she always wears in a side braid and Jack has these thick rimmed glasses he’s always wearing. I figured these elements would really make their silhouettes recognizable.  We ended up die cutting and letterpressing their wedding invitations for a fun and whimsical type based invite. It was a great wedding and lots of fun for everyone. It even included a mini pearl tea bar  named “Taylor’s Pearl Tea Bar” after their 4 year old daughter who loves pearl tea =)

We decided to do an RSVP postcard for guests to send in and I always feel like the back side is wasted so I thought it’d be fun to do a little note page area for guests to write a message to the couple. The idea behind this came from Christine being a school teacher!

For the escort cards, we spray painted a bulletin board gray and pinned a card for each name and each guest would receive a little 1″ pin of the couple to wear during the wedding.

Found a picture of the pearl tea bar at the wedding. We served them in little tumblers and cut the straws so it was a cocktail version of a pearl tea drink!

I love all the illustrations and the community cookbook is a wonderful and unique wedding favor idea.

The couple hired the extremely talented wedding photographer, Jose Villa to shoot their special day. Here are some of the details of the day shot by Jose including the couple’s full stationery set. The day took place at the beautiful Bently Reserve in San Francisco.

The wedding program were tucked into goccoed burlap bags.

I found about six of these old frames at a thrift store and paid $30 for them. The bride spray painted them gray to create a consistent and vintage look for the hang tag escort cards. The hang tags were to harp on the previous notion from their wooden hang tag save the dates.

One of my favorite things about this wedding was the gorgeous flowers done by Natalie Bowen. The centerpieces were set into beautiful wood boxes and the tables were identified with zinc letters.

The couple had hired a creme brulee cart as a post-party treat. Everyone received a little wooden spoon with a flag as a ticket informing them of the cart.

Yea, that’s me on the left with the dorky haircut and cheerleading costume–which is ironic because I was a total tomboy.I think my mom got it because it was on sale. Jodie is on the right! I believe we were in 4th grade here.

Twenty-five years later, she is getting married and I was super honored when she asked me to design her wedding invitations. Her colors were gold and gray but she said she wanted to glitterfiy everything! Well, glitter might be a little too messy though I have seen some really awesome glitter-lined envelopes, we settled on making it “pop” with some foil stamping.

Can’t wait to celebrate with them on their big day! Since I posted embarrassing photos of us from our youth, it would only be right to balance it out with her gorgeous engagement photos shot at the San Jose International Airport by the very talented photographer Vivian Sachs.

This invitation has a calendar on one side that counts the days from the day the card will be send until the 11th of July 2012, day of the wedding.
Inspired by old vintage wheels, its assemblage and construction required accuracy both in the executive file and in print.

The symbol of Sicily, the Trischele, was reshaped for the event adding tulips, symbol of Holland.”
